DMNS Science,
Live in Your Classroom

Connect your students with real DMNS educators without leaving your building. Tune into a free live broadcast, or book a structured virtual session led by a DMNS educator — no travel required, no barriers to access.

Virtual Science Academy connects your classroom to a professional Museum educator for a live, two-way class. All you need is a computer, webcam and internet connection — students can gather together in the room or log in from home. Programs are hands-on and interactive, with real dissections, experiments and discussion guided in real time.

Sessions run year-round, Monday through Friday, and are open to classrooms anywhere in the country or around the world. Every program comes with student journals in English and Spanish, and a bilingual Museum educator is available on request.

Book at least 21 days before your class. You'll get an automatic confirmation email right away — a Zoom link follows about two weeks out. Sessions are scheduled by date and time, so reserve early to lock in your class's preferred slot.

Choose Your VSA Program

Right after you book. Double-check that it lists the correct program, date, time and number of sessions, and reach out right away if anything looks off.

When do I receive my Zoom link, and do I need to test my connection?

About two weeks before your program, our Guest Services team emails a unique Zoom link — check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive. New to Zoom? Test your camera, mic and connection anytime at zoom.us/test.

How early should we log on the day of our program?

Connect 15 minutes before your scheduled start time so your educator can run an audio and video check with your class.

How long do classes run?

Most virtual programs run 45–60 minutes

Do I need a teacher in the room during the program?

Yes. A classroom teacher should stay in the room throughout to call on students and help moderate.

What happens if we run into technical issues?

Our technology team supports DMNS-side equipment; loop in your school's IT department for issues on your end. Delays caused by technology may result in rescheduling.
